We started making ballet ribbons in 2015.
Hey Everyone, my name is Maura McMahon. I started Ballet Ribbons in 2015 with my business partner, Paul. His background was in textile design and fabric engineering, and my background is in the arts and business development.
We set out to create a customized stretch ribbon for ballet dancers, giving them a choice in how their ribbons flexed and moved – so they could remain injury free and confident in performing.
It took us three years to develop our special ribbon formula. And then sadly, in December of 2019, Paul died. I decided to continue on with this legacy business, and I know Paul is watching with pride from above.
A labor of love.
Ballet Ribbons is an entrepreneurial labor of love. We’ve boot strapped this business, with major personal investments of our time and money to be able to bring this unique product to market.
